EDITORIAL
An informal Editorial, this one. Firstly, The RSS Homepage
Version 2 is around 60% complete. If you want a last look at Version 1, do so
soon. Next, Jennifer Klettke has reached the rank of Angry Trapper, may she
bear it proudly. From now on, to be promoted to the rank of Angry Trapper, you
will have to write 2 short articles for Rabid Times. To achieve the rank of Big
Slayer, you will have to do something significant for the RSS. Please do send
stuff in for Rabid Times because I am now out of material, and most of the new
stuff I am writing is going on the webpage. OK, just before I leave, Spanner
weighed 500kg. Quite a lot, but he is a solid lead robot.

The last in the series of rabid squirrel characters, I
present the Fearsome Gurgle!
Name: Jakra and the Fearsome Gurgle
Height: 33cm and 211cm
Weight: 832g and 2500kg
Occupation: Trainer and Monster
Special Abilities/ Features: She is very brave, it is a
massively scary monster.
Background: The laboratories of Merys have thrown out some
funny creations over the years: here is one of them. The
Fearsome Gurgle is a monster, possibly of squirrel origin,
but now so mutated it is hard to tell what it was. In some places
it is green and slimy, in others furry and black. Massive
fangs protrude from its back in certain places, in others many arms
stick out. The Fearsome Gurgle is a terrifying sight for man
and rabid squirrel alike. We avoid it.
Jakra is the beast’s trainer. She has bullied it from birth
and turned it into a fearsome killing machine. Jakra is a large
squirrel, and is the only rabid squirrel brave (or insane)
enough to go near this monster. In battle she stands behind it with a
whip, urging it forwards.
'Links' will be published in Rabid Times every couple of months. It contains all the best sites that members have discovered on the internet, plus sites by other squirrellers themselves. E-mail me with any sites you recommend.

The rabid squirrels have developed a new, extremely advanced
form of camouflage. By coating their bodies in dye the
correct colour for their mission (e.g.. black at night/ blue
in water), the squirrels manage to remain unnoticed even in the
most crowded areas. In fact I am not even sure whether I am
typing this on my PC or on the back of a grey and white rabid
squirrel. Right, it just tried to shoot me - I think that
answers my question.
